You can make those big $TSLY dividends without a big risk.
Here's how.
Most people want that huge dividend, usually around 50% annualized, that $TSLY pays, but they're terrified of the risk.
To capture the dividend and avoid the risk. You'll buy insurance against the price of $TSLY going down.
This insurance is known as a put and should cost you somewhere between $15 and $20. For every hundred shares of $TSLY you purchase (You have to buy hundred shares increments).
In October of 2023, the $TSLY dividend was 57.69 cents per share. With the insurance, or put, costing 15 cents a share, after you pay for that, you would still have 42.69 cents -PER SHARE- in your pocket.
On the day I wrote this, the price of $TSLY was $13 and 48 cents a share. That translates to an annualized return of 31.64%.
To implement this strategy. You simply buy one put option for every 100 shares of $TSLY that you own or want to buy. Specifically, you'll be looking for a put where the price is about 10% less than the current price of $TSLY. For you option geeks, this will be an option with a Delta of 18 to 20, somewhere in that neighborhood. Today, that's the November 2023 $12 put.
Using the $12 put for insurance would mean you were risking $1.48 at today's closing price. Plus 15 cents for the cost of insurance.
